Product Information
Description:
This metal bearing is sealed on both sides and it is sold individually. It is supplied from original equipment manufacturer for Bosch routers. This special bearing helps to support armature and allows it to spin freely. Symptoms of ailing armature bearings may include squealing, screeching, and an entirely different type of "grinding" (usually heard or felt as the motor powers-down). Fortunately, armature bearings are easy to replace, especially when problems are detected early. |

the bearing burned out.
I disassembled the router but I also destroyed another part while breaking it down. So I decided instead of ordering the other part for over $30. I decided to buy a new Bosch Colt hand held router. I plan to do that in the next couple of weeks. A new colt will be about $100. thanks for having the parts and making them available.

Lower bearing went bad and brushes were 80%used
Disassembled the router per the detail parts list on your website. Start by removing the brushes and then separate the armature from the lower bearing housing (collet end). The upper bearing appeared to be a press fit so I used a gear puller to remove this item. Having some wood blocks and a vise greatly helps holding the armature during the bearing removal and replacement process. I did not clean the commutator as I did now want to risk damaging any surfaces or windings. Take pictures as you disassemble as there are a few small parts such as small spring washers that can get misplaced during the process. After the bearings are installed reassemble in reverse order from disassembly and the final step is replacing the brushes. Take note of the brush spring to be sure it rides freely in the brush holder before replacing the brush caps.

Perfect replacement part for my GKF-125 Bosch router
Putting in this new bearing has eliminated the wobble of the bit when using the router in my CNC machine. Once I figured out how to get the old bearing out and the new bearing in to the router, the repair was relatively easy.

Perfect fit
The right part and it arrived on time. My router is like new. Much better for the pocketbook and environment than just throwing this router out and buying a new one.
