Remove gas from snowblower
Tip snowblower forward so that you can access the wheels and the bottom of the transmission case
Remove transmission cover bolts
Remove wheels
Remove broken axle
Put the chain on the gear components
Lubricate with white lithium grease
Replaced transmission cover
Attach wheels

Left axle broke at shear pin point
1. Stood machine vertically on first stage auger, leaning against garage wall
2. Removed bottom shield over transmission and other gearing and belts
3. Removed tire and broken part of axle attached to wheel assembly (left side)
4. Removed shear pin, unbroken axle and wheel assembly (right side)
5. Removed remaining shear pin and other half of broken axle
6. Used hammer and steel rod to drive axle half from axle drive tube
7. Replace both wheel assemblies including new axle and replaced shear pins
8. Reinstalled bottom transmission shield
9. Tested completed repair satisfactorily and saved two washers that fell out of somewhere
