How to Replace the Regulator on a Coleman Road Trip Grill

Problem getting gas to your grill? You might need a new regulator assembly. The regulator assembly allows you to attach high-pressure, disposable propane cylinders to your Road Trip grill. The regulator reduces the pressure of the incoming gas, so it is correct for the burners. There are a couple of O-rings in the regulator that can go bad, potentially causing dangerous propane leaks. The threads can be accidentally cross-threaded, and occasionally, the regulator will fail and let too little (or too much) propane into the grill.

Let's get started.

REMOVING THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY   1. Remove the regulator assembly.

a. The regulator is simply screwed onto the back of your grill.

b. Use adjustable pliers (as needed) to loosen the regulator connection.

c. Remove the regulator assembly.

  INSTALLING THE NEW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY   2. Install the regulator assembly.

a. Align the inner tube of the new regulator with the nipple on the grill.

b. Push the new regulator firmly into place.

c. Use your fingers to tighten the outer nut (and secure the regulator assembly).
