The filter container was warped and the gasket to the carb gasket leaked because the filter compartment was warped.

Completely removed the filter compartment and carburetor and disconnected linkage to carburetor, and gas line from fuel tank and suction line for filter housing. replaced gasket and installed new and improved filter body and installed new filter and reattached linkage and fuel line.

Pliers, Needle nose pliers.
Used needle nose pliers to remove old spring and to install new spring. Opened air filter cover, removed old filter and replaced with new one. Removed broken evaporative hose and installed new one. Motor’s running like brand new, even on cold starts!

Removed air cleaner shroud and unbolted carburetor. Detached throttle and choke control wires. Detached fuel and rebreather lines. Removed carb, replaced with new one, Reattached throttle and choke control wires, attached new fuel line, bolted carb in place, placed new air cleaner element and shroud back in place. job done!

Remived air filter. Took top off removed spark plug wire, spark plug. Put new spark plug in, put new spark plug wire on, put top back on.

Remove the blade bolt and blade support then the blade
Install the new blade with the blade support and blade bolt
Remove the old spark plug and install the new one gapped at 0.025
Remove the air filter cover and remove the old filter and insert the new one
Install the new blade with the blade support and blade bolt
