Grommet had deteriorated and gasoline was leaking from the gas tank.

Removed old grommet and gas-drenched air filter element and replaced with eReplacement parts. Commercial Tanaka trimmer works great again.

Old torn air filter replaced

Close carburetor choke.
Remove filter cover with finger screw.
Remove old filter.
Clean out surrounding area from dirt and dust.
Replace new filter.
Replace filter cover and tighten finger screw.

1. opened gas tank removed gas line, removed old filter
2. pushed on the new filter
3. removed cover, removed cleaner element
4. placed new element

Carburetor problems

I removed the air filter cover and the air filter, then removed the screws that were holding the carburetor on. Removed the fuel lines from the carburetor, then removed it. I watched your you tube video on rebuilding a carburetor.

I replaced the primer bulb. I then removed the heat insulator and replace the worn manifold gasket, then reinstalled the heat insulator. I then installed the rebuilt carburetor with the screws, replaced the fuel lines. Then put in the new air filter, than attached the filter cover.
