    Forward/reverse switch plastic broke on Bosch compact driver. The switch itself worked fine still.

    Just remove the torx screws and the stainless steel clip that holds the two halves together.
    Separate the two halves.
    The new slide plastic slips in to place with a little wiggling. Put screws and clip back together and in 10 minutes you are back in business.

    Only slight rotation & smell of burning plastic when trigger engaged - impact driver/drill dropped, forward/reverse switch broken

    1) Removed small torx screws and u-clip holding two halves of drill/impact driver together
    2) Removed broken forward/reverse button
    3) Removed motor assembly from unit
    4) Removed planetary gear box with two screws & two wires (both w/push-on clips) from motor
    5) Replaced broken forward/reverse button
    5) Replaced planetary gear box with two screws & two wires (both w/push-on clips) back onto motor
    6) Installed motor assembly into two plastic halves of drill/impact driver
    7) Installed u-clip in bottom of handle and re-installed all torx screws
    8) Tested with freshly charged 12V battery, problem solved -
    9) Bought parts based on guess guided by experience - issue was bad/burned out over used motor

    , small size tork screw driver

    1. remove battery
    2. removed seven screws on the housing
    3. pry open the handle
    4. remove broken slide
    5. install new slide
    6. replace handle
    7. before reinserting the screws:
    make sure the slide operates nice and easy
    make sure that the battery terminals are still aligned correctly- try to slide the battery in!
    8. insert screws and tighten

    Took the torx screws out, remove the keeper pin in the handle. Split the handle apart. Blew the dust out and place to slide in the handle. Replace the torx screws. Works like new again!
