The new part was better than original as it has a lot more threads to make blade adjustment easer.

    Worked perfectly.

Looked like it would work, but without specs, it was going to be a crapshoot.
Turns out it was the right size. The order was held up because another part was back ordered by the manufacturer. This information was not disclosed until I asked. An hour of phone calls revealed that the part was indeed back ordered, but is widely available through industrial parts distributors.

The gear that sets blade tension had 3 teeth break off and i couldn't release tension and had to back off the adjusting bolt which stripped it out.

I had to take off the tension assembly then remove the top cover to get to the gear with the broken teeth. The adjuster bolt sits on a slotted rack and pinion type assembly. The gear that moves the tensioning arm had three teeth break off and i had to replace that assembly also. Working like new now. I've had this Powermatic bandsaw for 16 years and this is the first problem I've had with the saw.
