I have a snow blower that the plastic case that holds the auger wire has broken and now the auger wont rotate. is it related to the broken part and is there a way to fix this?
my snowblower starts up very well but cycles up and down. it's almost like stepping on the gas and then letting up. I checked the carburetor and the gas line and all is in order. any ideas?
The surging is caused by dirt or debris in the carburetor. If it surges at idle it will be due to a blocked idle circuit in the carb. If it surges under load it will be due to a blockage in the transition circuit. The carburetor will need to be cleaned. It would be a good idea to also install a carburetor rebuild kit.
I acquired a used snow blower and the auger blade doesn't rotate properly. Is there a shear pin or key that needs to be replaced? Or is there a problem with the gears?
I have someone here helping me get this 90's model started. He called the 800 number and for this 4.5 HP thrower, he gave him the belt number (7540101A changed to 9540101A). We picked up that belt size and for one, it seems too big. I'm wondering though, if that V-belt next to the diagram is the one and if that is different model machine. The nutshell is it's still hard to see where the exact position for the belt is. Can you help us? I have 7 kids and don't have a lot of time to figure out the mechanics in it's totality. Thanks!
