Note: unit was still not oiling, disassembled again and found that the new worm gear was tight against the oiler pump shaft and not allowing the shaft to slide back and forth. Not sure if this was the fault of the new worm gear or a recently replaced oil pump assembly but I manually oiled the chain for about 30 minutes of operation and the gear seemed to break in and the pump began functioning better. I suspect that given a few hours of run it will seat in with no problem. It's worth noting though as the manufacturer may wish to address this situation in future runs of this part.
