This safety valve is a genuine replacement part manufactured for use with air compressors. If the compressor's pressure switch malfunctions, and does not turn the motor off when the amount of pressure is met, the safety valve will open to release the extra air pressure. The amount of pressure required to open the safety valve is set by tension of the spring inside the valve. The spring can wear out, and leave the valve open at a lower pressure than what is set to turn the switch off, and will not allow pressure to build inside the tank. This safety valve has a thread sealant pre-applied, so additional thread sealant is not required, the safety valve is sold individually.

Wrench Set
Remove the safety valve from the pressure switch and replace with the new one. Then remove the parts on the old regulator that do not come with the new one. Remove the old regulator and install the new one , and all the parts that were on the old one.

I had to replace the cylinder head on my air compressor. It had a small leak.

The repair went easy. Once I got the motor out of the case, replacing the cylinder head was easy to get at. Removing the four screws from the head and replacing the gasket with a new one. I had it back together and running in no time. I also had to replaced the safety valve.
