    Upper shaft breakage/ locked-dirty clutch

I took it apart. Realized the tip of the upper shaft was broke off; this is what was rattling really bad while it was at idle. If finally snapped the head would not spin. I got the new Upper shaft assembly and put that back in. Note to self do not take apart the trigger assembly/handle. Not too fun to put back together. I put all back together and the head was barely turning. I knew I seated everything properly and then I thought maybe the clutch was bad. I took it apart again, this time I kept the handle assembly in tacked and just maneuvered the shaft accordingly side to side you know for better feel ;), and took the clutch out and cleaned it. There was a lot of metal debris and fine metal dust. This I believe was prohibiting the mechanism to spring out and grip the cup/rotor. I put it back together and BAM! started right up and smooth. Worth opening up and buying the part. I would have bought the clutch if I thought that was it and if that wasn't it I would've buried it. Not too bad of a lesson and now I have my weed trimmer back in action. I like it trimmed!
