2. Removed drive pulley from engine
3. Removed stud that's between the drive belt
4. Removed spring from idler gear box
5. Removed drive belt
6. Loosened three bolts that hold the idler gear box so the drive belt could clear the pulley
7. Installed new belts (upper drive belt and variable speed belt also known as drive belt)
8. The worst part in replacing the belts was getting the mower deck back on the mower

2. Remove deck.
2a. Raise mower and support on jack stands or other reliable support.
3. Remove engine pulley.
4. Remove belt retainer at variable speed pulley.
5. Remove variable speed belt.
6. Remove remains of upper drive belt (cords wrapped around moving parts).
7. Install variable speed belt, engine pulley, and belt retainer at variable speed pulley.
8. Install upper drive belt. I removed the upper belt tensioner (idler bracket) and re-installed with belt to facilitate installation.
** For replacing belt pulley
9. Remove belt covers from deck.
10. Remove idler pulleys from deck.
11. Remove old A-section belt.
12. Position new A-section belt over spindle pulleys and route around idler pulleys while re-installing them.
13. Re-install belt covers over spindle pulleys on deck.
14. Install deck on mower per instructions in owners manual.
15. Install belt retainer around engine pulley, taking care to use the same mounting holes where it was before.

2. Then, I mounted the new upper drive belt.
3. From the time I placed my order on-line it only took two days for e-Replacement Parts to ship the new parts from Utah to me in Virginia and the next morning I quickly made the repair and had my lawn tractor running again.,
