I removed the upper motor cover which is held on by 8 or so T20 Torx / flat blade combo screws. Access to some of these screws requires popping the black top cover off. This is easily done by inserting a flat blade screwdriver into the slot at the center of the back edge and prying.
With the motor cover off, all of the gearing is free to move and you have a chance to blow the dust out and grease the bearings.
The drive pulley has a 20 mm octagonal flange. my metric set ends at 19 mm 3/4 inch is too small 13/16 is too big. I used my Crescent wrench while holding both the axle shaft and the crown gear still to unscrew the pulley.
After that it's easy. Slip the belt over the driven pulley and the drive shaft and screw the drive pulley back on and reassemble.
The only reason to remove the motor cover is to allow you to provide reaction torque when unscrewing the pulley. Next time I think I'll try tapping the wrench to break the torque.
