We have included a link below to our general repair video on removing the clutch from a chain saw, which also explains how to remove the clutch housing/drum, which is part# 6685144 for your model.     1. Took the cover off the chainsaw.
    2. Replace chain puller bolt which is behind another little cover.
    3. Replace everything back.

    The Tanaka chainsaw had bad chain tightener

    Screwdriver, 10mm Chainsaw combo wrench, compressed air

    Took off side chain cover with two bolts, cleaned out the inner parts with compressed air. Used a phillips screw driver to remove the springy cover from the tightening screw, then pried off the tightening screw and the small gear that turns it. I replaced the bent one and the bevel gear with the new parts, re-attached the springy guide and reassembled the saw, tightened the chain.

    The chain puller was broken. Half of the screwdriver slot had broken off.

    Removed the 2 nuts holding the side cover. Remove the side cover and remove the small screw holding the chain guard to the side cover. Remove the old chain puller and right angle gear. In stall the new right angle gear and chain puller. Place the chain guard back on the side cover and secure it with the small screw that was removed during disassembly. Place the side cover back on the saw aligning the chain puller with the hole on the bar. Put the 2 nuts back on the studs and tighten the nuts until the just start to make contact with the side cover. Turn the chain puller adjuster screw until you can just pull the chain up but not out of the groove in the bar. Tighten the nuts on the side cover firmly. Check to see that the chain moves freely around the bar and does not lift up high enough to come out of the slot in the bar. .

    Chain saw chain flew off, damage the guide and chain puller. Lost the cap in the woods
