    Screwdriver, Pliers

    I removed the screws from the handle, then made a wiring diagram for the switch. Disconnected the wires from the old switch and connected them to the new switch. Placed the new switch where the old one was, then put the handle back together

    Electric chain saw would not run when trying to start it.

    Screwdriver

    1. Removed all screws holding the case halves together.
    2. Disconnected the two wires attached to the switch. Checked switch with continuity tester.
    3. Replaced the switch with the new one.
    4. Wiped clean all parts of the saw.
    5. Put the case back together, tighten screws, attached chain and chain bar.
    6. It works.

    Plastic handle was broken beyond tape and glue!

    Screwdriver, Needle Nose Pliers

    Removed the screws from the broken parts.
    Removed wiring and microswitch.
    Replaced old microswitch with new since I was there.
    Used Needle Nose Pliers to grip terinals on microswitch.
    Reassembled handle halves.
    Replaced the screws to prescribed tightness.
    Road tested - OK!
