Product Description ?

This switch has 5 terminals an a safety lock system that prevents accidentally turning it on. This is a genuine Makita replacement part.

Switches are commonly replaced parts in tools. A switch handles on/off and variable speed operations. They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity. Because switches use mechanical internals, they will degrade and wear out over time, eventually needing replacement. Some common signs of a broken or failing switch are as follows:

• The tool has completely stopped functioning – it will not start.

• The tool operates intermittently, requiring multiple tries to turn on, until eventually it won’t start at all.

• The variable speed function and electric braking aren’t working properly.

    3. Replaced the part after taking pictures of the location of wires. Not really needed.
    4. Tested the new switch and it worked fine. Could have completed repair quicker but had a small challenge with the device that held the switch in place.

Replaced the handle and on off switch on my Makita 2703 table saw. Switch had been broken for years, but handle broke just recently. I could have taken it to the local repair shop and paid a couple hundred bucks, instead I searched online and found eReplacement Parts. Took no time at all to repair and works fine.

    1. Remove switch cover.
    2. Take a close-up picture of electrical connections with cell phone, unplug old switch.
    3. Connect new switch. (use picture for reference to be sure connections were correct.)
    4. Replace switch cover. done.
    5. Use key punch to carefully remove old broken plastic handle.
    6. Install new handle, use 'small' hammer to tap in key.
    7. Had to find a screw for tightener as mine was gone and was not included with new handle. done.
    8. Removed old carbon brushes, they still had half of their original length, so I used an air hose to blow off any sawdust and put them back in. done. Did not install the new ones, not needed, will save for future use.
