This is a genuine OEM replacement part used on Makita power cutters. This is the starter assembly that is used to crank start the unit. It includes a plastic shroud/housing, starter pulley, starter spring, grip and the pull rope. Please note the hardware/screws used to attach this assembly are sold separately.

Removed all torx screws that held starter cover on. Removed starter cover. Installed new cover reinstalled torx srews. Everything went smoothly. Worked beautifully.

All very well, fast and easy to install thanks. Removed 4 screws from the old starter and removed it. Installed the new starter with the screws.

Starter rope not retracting

Remove screws from defective stater, and remove it. Place new starter assembly on saw, line up screw holes, then secure it to the saw with the screws.
