*This part replaces obsolete part #: 321082-2.
Product Information
Description:
Service change: This spindle has been changed because of a tendency to crack or break. The threaded section has been reinforced with more metal. Because of this change, there is no longer a threaded hole to accommodate a chuck screw. When installing this new spindle, simply thread the chuck on normally. Regular use will ensure a tight, secure fit without a screw present. |
Products Compatibility
This item works with the following types of products:
- • Drill
- • Electric Drill

Screwdriver, rubber tipped hammer
Threaded end of spindle broke off.
Removed the gear case. Removed the drive gear and bearing. Removed the reduction gear. Removed the snap ring. Removed the key stock. Removed the bushing. Used a rubber tipped hammer to drive the broken spindle out. Placed a small amount of anti-seize on the new spindle shaft and drove it back into the outer bearing. After reversing the above procedure to put all parts back in place, I placed some new silicone grease onto the drive gear and the reduction gear. I then replaced the gear case. I placed blue Loctite on the spindle threads and installed the drill chuck. I am happy to say that my drill is like new again. The new spindle was an exact replacement and was excellent quality. This is a great website, will use it for future needs.
