Spindle lock block had broke and the bearings on the height adjustment had froze up.
Removed the top covers on columns and the chain drive on height adjustment. Removed the retainer screws on height adjustment head. Raised and blocked the head up. Removed screws holding bearing on end of height adjustment screws. Replaced bearings and height block. Then I reassembled the planer and started planning wood again.
