The gearbox was stripped out and a bearing had been overheated
1.)Separate halves of the gear case
2.)Take nut off the end of the spindle shaft
3.)Press out spindle and remove the spindle bearing and the spindle gear by backing the gear with a slotted plate and pressing the spindle shaft out
4.)Remove the armature and then remove the armature gear the same as the spindle gear. Gently heating the gear might be required.
5.)Press on new gears.
6.) Replace other damaged parts such as carbon brushes, electrical cord etc.
7.) Put new bearing on spindle and pack with grease
8.) Pack bearing with grease put spindle back into housing and replace the nut on the end of the spindle.
9.)Wipe some grease in the gear housing and reassemble.
