The Sliding Plate (Or Graphite Pad), is what the sanding belt of the belt sander runs against on the bottom of the Belt Sander.
This part helps in keeping the surface that is being sanded level and smooth.
It is attached to the Base Plate by two screws.
If this pad gets worn or tears it should be replaced ASAP.

2. pull two outgoing power wires out of friction connectors.
3. loosen two set screws with mini screw driver to remove incoming power wires.
4. reverse above with new switch
5. reinstall cover
