This is a genuine manufacturer sourced replacement screw. It is commonly used with electric drills. This left hand threaded screw is specially designed to secure drill chuck to the spindle. It is made out of metal and it is sold individually. Requires a hex key/allen wrench to tighten/loosen this screw

    Chuck broken off drill (screw in bottom of chuck broke off)

    Screwdriver, Gear puller, vise

    1. Took head of drill motor apart.
    2. Main spindle had gear on it that had to be pulled off.
    3. Used a three arm puller to remove gear.
    4. New part had to be pressed on. There was a key that had to be lined up. I hammered it on using a vise as a support.
    5. Put grease on new spindle and put head back on drill body.
    6. I turned on chuck and put left hand screw in bottom of chuck. I torqued it down using my impact driver.
    7. Tried it. Everything worked as it should.

    2. Unscrewed chuck and washer
    3. Replaced chuck and washer
    4. Replaced screw

    Screw was broke in half

    Used needle nose pliers to grab what was left of the screw and removed it. Then replaced it with the new screw. Remember it is a left hand thread.

    Broken spindle

    Remove the gear housing, remove the broken spindle, replace the housing replace the Chuck, then replace the screw in the Chuck. The repair is complete in about an he.
