This special screw is generally used to secure the starter housing on Husqvarna chainsaws. It is a genuine OEM supplied replacement part, not an aftermarket equivalent. This metal screw is sold individually. You will need a phillips head or a flat-head screwdriver to install or remove it.

  • Expensive little screw
    All four screws holding starter cord cover fell out. Ordered these to replace which worked fine but are expensive not just here but everywhere. Used locktite this time.

    Chainsaw was sluggish, would bog down in cut and then difficult to start when hot. Twenty-five year old carb diaphragm was due for replacement.

    Screwdriver, 4mm Allen Key

    1. Removed air cleaner cover
    2. Removed 3 4mm allen bolts from air cleaner housing
    3. Removed 2 4mm allen bolts holding carb assembly to cylinder
    4. Removed throttle linkage, choke linkage and fuel line
    5. Quick spray of carb cleaner on carb to remove lingering saw dust, dirt
    6. Removed diaphragm covers to access metering diaphragm and fuel pump diaphragm
    7. Removed High/Low adjustment screws
    8. Light spray of carb cleaner in all passages and in H/L passages
    9. Low pressure air nozzle to dry off carb
    10. Installed new fuel pump and metering diaphragms, with proper location of gaskets
    11. Reversed process to reassemble chainsaw
    12. I have not had an opportunity to run saw since repair, hopefully tomorrow

    Broken choke lever

    Remove top cover. Loosen air filter and loosen air filter base but do not remove. Unhook old choke control. Install new choke and rehook the new choke and replace top cover.
