screen was bent over time of pulling on it
Removed the screw from the center of the fireplace unit, which holds the pole for the screen. Pulled the pole out from either side of the fireplace. Slid the screen off from either side of the center of the pole. Slid the new screen in place and reattached!

Sliding screen was warped.
Slide the old screen off of the screen rod
Slide the new screen on the screen rod
