The sander pad deteriorated to the point where pieces of the pad were falling off each time it was used.
Removed sanding pad, housing and then replaced the belt, pad and housing. The new belt was a bit difficult to place in the track, but ... it did fit eventually.

Question: Sander Pad Attachment

jo4hn

My 333 does not have the three bolt holes for attachment of the pad to the support. Were any of these glued on or attached in some other way than is shown in all of the literature?

I destroyed the pad (sometimes patience is not one of my virtues) and found the screws beneath the velcro pad. The velcro pad was an 8 hole variety with 7 holes filled in with some sort of hard adhesive and 4 additional holes drilled. Need a new pad now. If anybody knows why this was done this way, let me know. Inquiring minds and all that. TIA. jo4hn

Hello Gustav,

Porter Cable offers a 5 inch pad with 5 holes that are elongated, so you can use 8 hole hook and loop paper. And it works surprisingly well. It is part number 13909.

Hope this helps,
