Product Description ?

It is a genuine OEM supplied replacement part that is specially produced for use with Hitachi air compressors. The safety valve is an important component that will prevent the tank from over pressurizing, it is designed to open and relieve excess pressure. Over time, the spring inside this valve can deteriorate, allowing air to escape at too low of a pressure. This high quality brass safety valve is sold individually.

Air would pressurize tank to 125psi then immediately dump air to 90psi.

First i replaced the unloader valve and it changed nothing, then replaced the the safety valve and the problem was fixed. In retrospect, i would take the old safety valve apart (easy to do) clean it and adjust the spring in it. That is the only thing in the safety valve. You probably don't need a new one.

Changed the pressure safety valve, but the issue is probably not a problem with the pressure safety valve. The burst of air is also (or maybe just only) coming from the fitting on the pressure control valve, at the first little tube connector that is leaving the pressure control valve in the flexible hose, headed toward the air storage tanks. THsi is the first section of the flexible hose, and it dumps air for a time after the pump shuts down. I cannot tell if this piece is serviceable or not, but according to eparts, whatever this little piece does, it is no longer available. Perhaps the fitting can be serviced, but that will require a major take-down to get enough room to remove that flexible hose.
