Question: Oil Pump
The oil pump on my Ridgid 1224 pipe threader quit pumping. I took it apart and everything looks good. What could go wrong with this pump?

I have seen this a lot, there are a few things that could cause this. Check the seals and springs on the valve plate. Check the hoses for breaks especially near the gear. Also the drive pin (roll pin) should only come out one side of the shaft, I have encountered people who think it comes out both sides since it looks like there are 2 slots to fit it in. The pin is only to fit in the squared slot not the round one. When pump is slid onto shaft correctly there should only be a 1/8" gap from pump to keyway. If installed correctly and still not working try to force prime the pump with a squeeze bottle filled with oil.

Which die head has the problem.#711 &911 or the #714&914.If it is the smaller 711,911, check the trigger assembly #19 on break down.Like i said it needs to be cleaned and some were parts need changed periodically on all types of die heads.(example of were parts in breakdown on die head #711 are #'s 13,1,5,4,6,11,7,15) let me know.
