Very easy fix. I removed 4 screws from the top and removed the head. The retainer was screwed to the underside. Only a piece of the old one remained. I cleaned out the broken pieces, installed the new one, and put the head back on. Works like new.

Assemble parts in the proper place. Put nails into the magazine, connect the air hose from a working air compressor. Check for air leaks, and test fire a few nails into suitable wood.
