Removed the old regulator.
Took the pressure gauge,hose connect off old regulator.
Rewrapped the pressure gauge and hose connect with teflon tape and screwed them into new regulator.
Connected new regulator to compressor.
Everything fit new regulator just as old regulator.

Old adjustable pressure regulator leaked

1. Repair of craftsman dual tank, 125 psi, 1gal air compressor made annoying because carry handle did not allow either old nor new adjustable reg. assembly to fully rotate on extension tube from tank gauge. Disassembled old regulator by removing air pressure adjust knob with the four machine screws in corners. Then, unscrewed pressure gauge and female hose attachment which then allowed the three port housing to be removed.
2. Same process on new regulator part to remove air press adj knob, then screw on housing and reassemble regulator in reverse order. Teflon tape used on all attach ports. Use caution for spring/block on rear of housing along with o rings on both front and back covers.
3. I did not remove any other copper air lines or compression fittings.
4. If carry handle was not there this would have been a 10 minute job max.
5. Compressor works great now. Old regulator was full of gunk and rust which is my fault for not draining air tank on compressor via lower blow out more often. 25 year old unit held air at 110 psi overnight unplugged. Success in my book

Removed the regulator assembly from the compressor with some difficulty because the regulator was hitting the compressor support frame. Replaced the nipple connecting the regulator to the compressor with a 1/4" x 6" nipple to prevent regulator from contacting the support frame preventing damage to new regulator. Removed the air hose connector from the old regulator and installed on the new putting thread tape on all threaded ends.
