Product Information
Description:
This is a genuine OEM replacement part, it is sold individually. By pressing the bulb, it will purge the carburetor of air. Fuel will be forced up from the fuel tank through the fuel line then into the carburetor. Then the excess fuel will be forced back into the fuel tank through the fuel return line. At some time the primer will lose its elasticity or crack and need to be replaced. We have an article and video on How to Replace a Primer Bulb, in our Repair Center. That can be found on the front page of our site. |

Primer Bulb was cracked from age and leaking fuel
Used phillips head screwdriver and loosened the two screws holding it to the carburetor.
You will want to do this with the engine cold and with the priming bulb facing up and level. Also please note that the bracket that mounts the bulb to the carburetor will only fit one way. If you put it on backwards the screws will not line back up properly.
I also replaced my "bump" string spool by hand. Mine had worn completely through. I had a hard time finding the right spool locally. eReplacement parts had exactly what I needed! Thanks.
