    When starting chain saw cord pulled out and would not rewind. Took section apart and found plastic gear was broken and the spring was totally unwound.

    Screwdriver, None.

    Remove cover, (remember where each of the screws belong as there are 2 sizes), untie knot from gear, remove pull rope & thread rope into new gear. If replacing spring Remove Spring, place new spring into area & ensure the notch of spring is set into slot. Rewind pull cord, Connect spring to gear and set housing cover back into place an replace screws. Test pull cord. Job complete.
