    Fitting housing defective
The fitting housing on the switch was so soft when I attempted to attach one of the required nipples the housing cracked. The original housing was much stronger. Use caution when attaching nipples into the pot metal or you too will have scrap.

Medium 1-2 hours (4 rated repairs)?

Unit would not turn on unless you manually held the on switch to "on". Reducer was stripped and you could not adjust the regulator.

Removing the old switch and reducer was the hardest part. Everything was really tight and I had to be very careful in not stripping or breaking any fittings or connections. Take note as to how the switched is wired. Two 3-wire harnesses are colored coded the same. Be sure to install the correct harness to the proper side of the switch. Had to replace one electrical connection due to over heating of several years of use. That's why I had to do this repair. Crimped on a new lug and connected. After tightening all connections and fittings and double checking the wiring, I turned the compressor on and whamo, it ran. Shut off at the predetermined setting and came back on after I opened the drain to let air out. $50 fix and I have a new compressor.
