My compressor will only pump 65 lbs and then just keeps running what do you think is wrong with it?

My compressor, model #C3551, hums but wont start. The capacitors test out fine and the motor is not bound up and turns freely.

The compressor will not build up pressure. I don`t know the difference between type 0 & type 1.

The type numbers indicate changes in manufacturing. On the tag on your compressor where the model number is will also have the Type number listed. If there is no type listed then you are probably safe to assume you have the type 0.

compressor wont start

I have a porter cable 150 psi 4.5 gal compressor model C3551. It hums but wont start. The motor turns freely, The capaciters test out fine. any help would be appreciated. Thanks, John.
