Discussion for the Porter Cable 9737 Type 1 Keyless Reciprocating Saw
Hi Rob,
A lot of the time this type of repair can get rather expensive. When the shaft starts to have play in it it usually means there is a chance a few other parts are also worn.
You might look at the following parts on your saw and see if they are worn, the recip shaft part number, NO74353, the tube carrier part number,883098, and also look at the wobble plate part number,890819. I would guess your problem might be one or all of those parts.
Good luck,
WJA
My Porter Cable Model 735 type 2 saw works great however it will no longer lock blade in position. Quick blade change feature stills appears to function other than not locking blade.
Hey joseph,
Sometimes the clamp pin gets squared off and is very difficult to remove even with the collar pin removed...I have had to cut off the collar to remove the pin and broken off blade..UGH..its a last resort..but you will need to replace the collar # 897774 [after you cut it off] clamp pin # 648594-00..and the retainer pins..# 884696..
parts available at ereplacementparts.com..
hope this helps..?:)
