Question: Miter Saw Safety Guard

Has anyone else broken the blade guard mount (894390) on the Porter Cable 3802 Type 2 miter saw? This part is no longer available apparently although for the life of me I can't understand why a critical safety part such as this one has been discontinued. It's not like the part can never break as I have evidence of that. Maybe somebody out there has found a way to repair one of these when it is broken.

I am looking for a replacement fence for my Porter Cable 3802 Type 1 compound saw. Part # is 204 894558. Does anyone know where I can find one? Do any other fences work on this saw?

Hey 1linda,
you can try contacting a Dewalt Service Center..[they own porter-cable]..but it says the fence is not available on their website..however,they might have info on another type of replacement..
