I am wondering if any one has any ideas on the following. My 314 panel saw was dropped and not only the plastic brush cap was broken, but the plastic peice that is glued into the motor housing that it screws into is also broken beyond any repair. It appears the only option is to buy a housing for $60 plus, or is there another option?

Not really.Its not worth the trouble to try to fix this kind of problem other then to replace the housing. Sorry I couldn't give you better news.Good luck.

The old switch has two wires, but the new switch has a place for two more wires. The new switch came with two small pieces of wire. Do not know what to do.

Have removed the guard assembly to clean up an older Model 314 (type 5) Porter Cable trim saw and now am not able to get the brass gear at the other end of the assembly to "mesh" back into the worm gear attached to the armature. I am wondering if there is some trick to get these two gears back in sync. I cannot get the outer cover to sit down flush with the rest of the saw in order to get the three small bolts re-attached. It looks easy but I can't figure out what the problem is.

Hi,

I have some lateral movement with the blade, about 1/16". The arbor moves in and out of the body of the saw. I wasn't able to see too clearly on the parts breakdown if there is a part I can replace to fix this. Thanks.

how do I lubricate the Rockwell model 314 trim saw. I no longer have the owners manual but do have a tube of lubricant that came with the saw twenty five yrs ago approximate.
