Because this part gets so much abuse it has a tendency to crack and fall apart eventually requiring a replacement. Removed the top of nail gun replaced the worn piston, seals piston and stop.
Cleaned and oiled the inside.
Replaced the top and it worked perfect.

Took Senco framing nailer completely apart to find problem and clean off built up dirt from the nail magazine feeder assembly and barrel. the bumper was dried and shattered, cleaned out inner housing and all inner parts, replaced bumper and three O-rings on the piston housing, be sure to grease everything with O-ring grease before reassembling inner housing, reassembled outer nail magazine and barrel. Tested at proper operating pressure on some scrap wood with several nail shots; good to go!
