Product Description ?

This replacement piston ring is a high-quality item that is sourced from original equipment manufacturer for use with Makita power cutter saws. A worn or broken piston ring will allow combustion gasses to escape the seal and enter the crankcase causing low compression and the loss of power. If compression is reduced significantly, the engine will not be able to run at all. Please note this durable metal piston ring is sold individually.

Disassemble saw removed cylinder head . Removed piston from rod . After receiving replacement piston and ring . Hond inside of cylinder head with a honing tool used battery drill to spin tool. Cleaned inside the head to remove grit . Checked for guage in walls. After inspection I installed new piston on rod installed piston in cylinder head very carefully .used lubricant to help with process. Once inserted I reassemble saw . Used a heavier oil ratio for break-in. So far it has worked well for me. Saved myself 834.00 dollars yea

Tear down to remove cylinder head from piston. Remove old ring; inspect piston and cylinder for damage-both good; clean ring groove on piston; install new ring; install piston back into cylinder head; install cylinder head bolts; assemble rest of components; add fresh mix; startup and run; starts and runs good.

Special instructions-pay attention to how all the parts came apart so they go back together in an orderly manner.
