Product Description ?

This replacement o-ring is a high quality item that is sourced from original equipment manufacturer for use on Porter Cable nailers. This o-ring provides an air-tight seal for the piston driver assembly. Over time o-rings tend to shrink, become brittle and crack allowing for air leaks eventually requiring replacement. Please note one durable rubber o-ring is included per order.

    Successful repair
The parts I ordered were exact replacements needed to repair my Porter Cable 16 gauge nailer. I purchased it in December of 2000 and it has had a lot of use. I was concerned that I would have to throw it away. These parts enabled me to get the nailer working as good as new again!

Finish Nailer leaker air through the top vent

This nailer is about 17 years old and has seen a lot of use. The last time I used it is work for a couple of trigger pulls and then began leading air through the top vent and stopped driving. I did some research on the repair and then went to the manufactures web site, but they no longer carried any parts. All the parts I needed I got from eReplacment parts.

Disassembly was fairly simple. The piston was stubborn to remove but a sharp rap on a wooden block did the trick. Checked all the parts for damage and found that the spring bumper was broken in several places. Ordered that part and replaced all the seals since the unit was apart. Recommend lubricating each seal and its mating part before reassembly. A good cleaning of the tool is also recommended along with oiling other areas with moving parts. Works great. Recommend about 80-85 psi when operating brad and finish nailers.

Nailer won't fire, only leaked air while the trigger was depressed in the trigger area

Disassembled the trigger and then removed the trigger valve from the body of the gun using a socket. I replaced all of the O-rings in the trigger area and lubricated them with the oil that comes with the gun. I then reassembled the valve and screwed it back into the gun body. I reassembled the trigger making sure that the safety worked as it is designed to. The gun worked properly after the repair and continues to at this point. I am satisfied that the O-rings were the cause of the problem.
