This nose cushion is specially designed for use with Porter Cable nailers. It is a genuine part that is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer. The nose cap is attached to end of the safety element to prevent the material from getting marred or dented by the pushing lever. It is a recommended to have a few extra on hand as they do have a tendency to crack or deteriorate over time or simply get lost. This part is made out of plastic and it is sold individually.
To replace this item you do not need any tools.

It took longer to get the nailer out than it did to put on the new nose cushion. I just pushed the nose cushion onto the nailer.

Would not shoot the nail,leaking air at top of nail gun near air exhaust

Replaced the collar-Pu by removing the top head of the nail gun. inspected all the parts inside, seal and piston were in perfect shape. The only parts I had to replace was the collar-Pu and bolt on top of cover due to removal problem with the bolt. Installed a new nose cushion due to my old one was missing. Simple repair, works like new now .Thanks

Put the nose cushion on the nailer and stored the wrench in the cutout provided in the case. No real repair just replaced some missing items.
