    Bathroom Fan Motor Replacement
Called eReplacement to find a 40+ year old bathroom fan motor. Because of the age of the unit, I was not too optimistic. I had the Broan model number, but it was out of date by years. A very helpful and patient lady assisted me by finding the eplacement model number and the fan motor. It fit perfectly.

Removed old motor and exhaust fan. Saw it was a Broan 658 ventilation fan so ordered the motor and fan that showed it would fit broan 658 fan.
The new motor and fan were larger than our old motor and fan. Took some maneuvering to get the motor to fit in the smaller housing but my husband managed to bend the housing to make the parts fit.
Ventilation fan repaired now and working fine.

Going in, I hoped that I could replace the motor and not the whole unit (which would have disturbed old drywall and made the project much more challenging). Turns out that I had the model number but it was extinct. However, the kind and patient lady at eReplacement worked with me, found the updated model number and the proper fan motor replacement. It fit perfectly.
Reassembly was a breeze after vacuuming 40+ years of dust out of the assembly. The time listed includes disassembly, cleaning, phone time with eReplacement and reassembly.

after installing new motor, i couldn't get the blower as far down on the motor shaft as the original set-up. I then realized the coil was a litter bigger on the replacement, and I only had so much depth available in the housing. It fit and works good though.
