Took apart unit.
Found genuine part online for an excellent price and ordered.
Installed motor in unit.
Soldered positive and neutral wires onto motor connectors like the factory did.
Put together the rest of saw parts and job was complete.
Tested saw on some wood for an extended time. All good.
Fan in the motor was broken.

2) Removed the speed reducer from the motor.
3) Cut the motor wires because they were soldered onto the lugs.
4) Reinstalled the speed reducer back onto the motor.
5) Soldered the wires onto the new motor.
6) Assembled the saw by reversing the disassembly process.
7) Tested and ran the saw. Everything fit and worked perfectly.

A couple of points not covered there:
The Ryobi saw housing has one screw deeply sunk in its access hole and requires a 2" or longer insert bit for a power driver; a short one can't reach the screw head.
Take note of the orientation of the motor in its mounting (not just the red and black wire connection locations). The wires need to go back in their original orientation for the cover to fit properly, even though the motor mounts equally well in either orientation.
You will want a small soldering iron to unsolder and resolder the wires on the motor.

Slowly separated parts and snipped solder part of wiring in order to remove old motor.
