I have a g1100 generator that is hard to start.
I have to pull vary fast many times to get it to start.
The pulls must be one right after the other with no interuption.
It seems like I am spinning up the speed to get it to start????
I have copied the owners manual of this generator & I believe page 15 will answer your question. If you have pulled the starter that many times it sounds like the choke was not engaged. Set the choke to the on position, pull it once or twice until it pops & then set it to the run position & pull it once more & it should start. If this doesn't work check your plug & engine oil level. When checking oil make sure it is generator is on a level surface. Hope this helps.
my generator i use for some reason has had melt down inside the case the gas tank and various parts melted away not sure why but it did not start on the exhaust side but on the control panel side for some reason anyone have any ideas?
Hey Don,
hmmmn..is the melting from a chemical or gas..? if the wiring has melted it would be from a wire getting shorted with another or going to ground [or being overloaded]..if your actual gas tank melted..well..that's another story.. ugh..this might be one for the repair shop.
wish i could have been more helpful..
