Gearcase bearing failed
After removing the old lower gearcase hub, a bench vise was used to press the gear and the old bearing/ hub assembly off the spindle. The spindle was then pressed into the new bearing within the gearcase hub using the vise. The gear was then pressed onto the spindle also using the vise .
The hub assembly was then re attached to the gearcase and the screws reinserted.
