Bevel knob to hold the saw in one place on the rail was broke off flush with the housing.
Tool Type
Miter Saw
Difficulty
Medium
Time
15-30 minutes
Tools Used
Power Drill, left hand drill bit, easy out, small hammer
Parts Used
Used a tiny left hand drill bit to make a hole, keeping the hole as close to center as possible.
I went to a larger drill bit that an easy out could be used.
The larger bit was as big as possible without damaging the threads.
Gently tapped the easy out in with a small hammer until it was locked in and gently unscrewed the broken screw.
NOTE: Don't try and use a standard steel screw. There is a special piece at the bottom of the hole that the brass screw pushes against. If you mess it up with a standard screw, beware that my research shows the piece at the bottom is no longer available. That piece stops the shaft from being damaged. Also you could use standard drill bit. It's just something I do and usually the piece will unscrew as I drill.
