The Mantis tiller wouldn't start
I bought the K-10 carb rebuild kit and replaced the diaphragms in the carburetor. Mixed a fresh batch of 2 cycle gas and after a few pulls it started. The old air filter crumbled when I pulled it out so I replaced that too. The old one was the original from back in the late 80's. I also replaced the gasket in the fuel tank cap. The old seal was melted by the gas stored in the tank for a few years without being used. Over all a very easy repair that cost around $20. The last carb repair on this tiller was at least 8-10 years ago. At that time I replaced the diaphragms too.

Weed trimmer would not run except for short bursts when I sprayed starter fluid in the carb
I removed the carburetor and disassembled it that's when I saw the flaps that open and close controlling the fuel flow were stiff from age and were not seating properly. That part needed replacement . I removed the needle that meters the fuel. Then on the other side I replaced the fuel diaphragm. While all these parts were removed I blew out all the passages after spraying with carb cleaner . Reassembled everything and replaced the spark plug and air cleaner . The trimmer started right up . I the adjusted the High speed and then the low speed needle valve .
