Commercial XL ORECK uprights use a Metal C clip that secures the outer bag to the vacuums upright pole instead of the Bag Dock that comes with consumer XL uprights. We are going to replace that METAL C CLIP in our commercial model with the BAG DOCK. If we don't remove the C clip then the Bag Dock will not properly fit to the vacuum and we'll have a big mess later.
1. Unzip outer bag.
2. Remove paper inner bag.
3. Find the METAL C clip that is securing the outer bag to the CC orifice and remove that Metal C clip.
4. Bag Dock: separate the adapter into two pieces at its hinge point so that we end up with the adapter in two understand pieces.
5. Using the smaller of the two pieces, spread it wide so that it will clip into the CC orifice BEHIND THE RIDGED LIP of the CC orifice, in the same way the METAL C CLIP was behind the ridge. It may feel like you are going to break the adapter but it should be fine. It takes some effort to spread it enough to fit BEHIND the CC orifice plastic ridge.
*This is critical that the Dock adapter is BEHIND the ridge of the CC hole, else the outer bag won't be clipped on and properly secured to the pole and you'll have dust and dirt debris leaking directly into the outer bag with a big mess later.
6. Attach the 2nd half of the adapter to the hinge.
You are ready to install a bag.
