This replacement chuck and key assembly is a genuine OEM sourced part, it is specially manufactured for use with Bosch drills. This chuck is used to secure a drill bit. As the key is turned, the top of the chuck moves upward, forcing the jaws to tighten around the drill bit. If your drill's bit retention is suffering, the rotation feels stiff, or the chuck has seized up entirely, a new chuck should fix the problem. This kit includes one metal drill chuck and one metal chuck key. Please note, the screw to secure the chuck is sold separately.

Parts Used
Inserted a thin allen wrench into a hole on the side of the drill, locking the drive cylinder in place. I put a large allen wrench into the old chuck and tightened the chuck. Hit the allen wrench with a hammer to turn it in a counter clockwise direction. Unscrewed the old chuck, screwed in the new one. Inserted the large allen wrench into the chuck and hit with a hammer in a clockwise direction to tighten. Done.
