This Kerf board is a genuine Makita replacement part. It is plastic and has 3 screw holes to secure it to your saw.
Kerf boards (also called kerf plates) are used to prevent excessive splintering, resulting in cleaner cuts. Using the wrong kerf board for your tool can give a rough edge to the material you’re cutting.
