This is an authentic manufacturer-sourced part is specially made for use with Delta compound miter saws. Table saw insert helps to reduce splintering and chip-out on the cuts. It also prevents thin slices of wood from jamming in between the blade and the plate during a cut.     Insert chewed up pretty badly

    Remove old insert. 6 screws. Install new part. Actually the insert for the 12in Delta was a perfect fit for a porter cable 12 in miter saw.

    1. Remove screws from existing insert.
    2. Remove broken insert.
    3. Place new insert in recess on table.
    4. Replace screws in new insert.

    The table insert on my Delta chop saw had become way too wide ... splintering on fine cuts.

    Remove the old insert (4 phillips screws).
    Shim the replacement insert to match the saw table height ... about 0.015"
    Replace the screws.
    Cut a slot in the new insert with a fresh blade.
    Perfect!
